I see no reason why. The Kindle and Apple's rumored tablet serve two very different purposes. For people who read for pleasure for long periods, the Kindle wins. Publishers would go ape over a device that displayed color. I imagine books on Apple's tablet would look like a 90s web site. No thank you.
